Biometric Data Notice

JadeMirror offers Mian Xiang, the traditional art of Chinese face reading. To produce a reading we briefly analyze a photo of your face. Because some laws treat face data as sensitive (for example the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act “BIPA”, Texas CUBI, Washington’s biometric law, the EU/UK GDPR, and the California CCPA/CPRA), we want to be precise about what we do and do not do.

What we do

  • ✦When you choose to take or upload a photo, we send it to our AI analysis provider to generate your face reading.
  • ✦The reading describes features and proportions in the Mian Xiang tradition (the Five Mountains, the facial features, a life-arc reading). It is interpretive and for insight and entertainment.

What we do NOT do

  • ✦We do not use your photo to identify or recognize you, and we do not build a faceprint or face-recognition template for identification.
  • ✦We do not sell, lease, trade, or profit from your photo or any data derived from it.
  • ✦We do not retain your photo after the reading is generated, and we do not use it to train models.
  • ✦We do not share it with anyone except the AI provider that performs the analysis at your request.

Consent

Submitting a photo for a face reading is entirely optional and is your affirmative consent for us and our processing provider to analyze that image solely to generate the reading you requested. You can decline at any time by simply not using the face reader, and you can use the rest of JadeMirror (your chart and daily horoscope) without ever submitting a photo.

Retention & deletion

Your photo is processed transiently to create the reading and then discarded; JadeMirror does not keep a copy. The reading text you see is generated on the fly. To delete any saved profile data, use the Account page or email privacy@jademirror.ai.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to know what is processed, to withhold consent, and to request deletion. JadeMirror does not maintain a biometric identifier database. For any request, contact privacy@jademirror.ai.

Not a medical or identity service

A face reading is a cultural and entertainment experience. It is not a medical, diagnostic, biometric identity, or background-screening service, and must not be used to make decisions about a person’s health, employment, credit, housing, or eligibility for any benefit.
